John Wayne Airport is seeking a Capital Projects, Assistant Deputy Airport Director – Project Planning and Delivery to provide strategic direction and technical expertise for its capital programs. This role involves overseeing a multidisciplinary team and guiding the planning, programming, and execution of capital improvement projects to enhance airport infrastructure and ensure compliance with regulations.

Oversee a multidisciplinary project management and Construction and Logistics Management (CALM) team
Lead the planning, programming and delivery of the Airport’s $700 million Capital Improvement Plan and related programs
Ensure design and construction excellence, safety, and compliance with FAA, state, and local regulations
Manage multiple concurrent projects while minimizing operational impacts
Partner with procurement to deliver contracts for public works, design, and job order services
Guide the development of project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources
Monitor project progress, reporting, and performance outcomes

Required

Six (6) years of professional project management, engineering and/or construction management experience related to long-range programs or large-scale infrastructure projects, such as airports, public buildings, roads, bridges, flood control facilities, or landfills from the inception phase through the close-out phase
Three (3) years lead/supervisory experience
At least four (4) years of aviation specific experience
A bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, architecture, construction management, or a related field
Knowledge of public contracting codes, design and construction standards, and project management software

Preferred

Master's degree in engineering, planning, architecture, construction management, or a related field
A certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
