Maryville Academy is a human services organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. They are seeking a Bilingual Daytime Youth Care Provider to support the care and guidance of Unaccompanied Children in a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

Follows all Maryville’s policies and procedures as well as all standard operating procedures for the Unaccompanied Children Program
Provides for the basic needs of the Unaccompanied Children including, but not limited to: nutrition, hygiene, clothing, daily routines, recreational activities, laundry and education
Conducts oneself as a role model for the children/youth
Provides consistent “line of sight” supervision of youth
Provide safe transportation of child/youth to various scheduled activities
Completes all required logs, forms and reports
Attends a minimum of 40 hours advanced training/workshops on an annual basis
Performs other duties / functions as requested by supervisory personnel

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent required
One year of child welfare experience working with children and/or adolescents
Bilingual (Spanish/English) language competency required
Ability to use good judgment, and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations
Successful completion of all staff education requirements including: Pre-Service training, NCI, CPR, and ARC Model
Ability to establish trust and positive rapport with children, and work within ethical boundaries
Ability to effectively prioritize job duties and needs of the children
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel), and documentation programs
Must possess a valid driver's license
Ability to drive a passenger van
Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and drive for extended periods of time
Ability to walk up and down stairs
Required to lift/move objects and/or youth weighing in excess of 40 pounds
Must possess ability to provide physical restraint to youth
Must have the visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential job functions defined above
Must be flexible in scheduling and willing to work evening and weekend shifts

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in human services preferred
Two years' experience working with youth in a residential setting preferred
