Mid LevelServingSchools is dedicated to supporting students in the Waterville Public School System, which serves over 2,000 students in Maine. The role of Educational Technician III involves providing individualized academic assistance and collaborating with teachers to foster a positive learning environment for students in the Resource Room program.
Education
Responsibilities
Provide instructional and assessment support under the general guidance of a special education teacher
Work with outside agencies to support students through adaptive instruction
Consult with classroom teachers
Carry out lesson plans independently
Conduct, record and summarize student observations and progress as directed
Ensure a safe learning environment through application of school rules and expectations, as well as, policies established by Waterville Public Schools
Exhibit a positive professional attitude with supervisors, co-workers and students
Maintain confidentiality of all student and employee-related information
Perform additional tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
MDOE Technician III Certification (or eligible)
Relevant education, credentials, and work experience
Experience working with students in a school setting
Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Strong initiative and willingness to work independently and also as part of a team
Able to work and communicate effectively with students, and teachers
Cooperative, patient, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others
Preferred
Experience with or willing to learn Braille
Background in working with multilingual students
