Responsibilities

Build & Grow the Practice – lead the development of a national fire protection business unit, including strategic planning, market positioning, and revenue growth
Provide Technical Leadership – oversee complex projects involving fire suppression, alarm, and life safety systems, as well as performance-based design and code consulting
Team Leadership & Mentorship – hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of fire protection engineers and consultants
Drive Business Development – develop client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and represent the practice in proposals, interviews, and presentations
Represent the Firm – serve as a thought leader in the fire protection space, actively engaging in professional associations and industry forums
Cross-Discipline Collaboration – work closely with other business units and disciplines to deliver integrated engineering solutions

Required

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection (required)
12+ years of progressive experience in fire protection engineering, including leadership roles
Proven track record of business development and client relationship management
Strong technical knowledge of NFPA codes, IBC/IFC, and performance-based design approaches
Experience building and managing teams, with excellent leadership and mentorship skills
Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with confidence in client-facing settings
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance technical delivery with business growth
