Senior Legal Services Manager

Scooter’s Coffee is looking for a Senior Manager of Legal Services to join the Legal team at its corporate headquarters. This role is responsible for implementing new legal and compliance processes to enhance risk mitigation and legal support throughout the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Manage the Scooter’s Coffee contract lifecycle management system, including maintaining and adding system configurations, implementing new workflows, ticket support, user training and user support, system audits, and record integrity
Maintain clause library and assist with template updates based on legal team feedback
Design and run contract management reporting based on directives and company focus areas
Work with attorneys to vet potential new CLM vendor
Coordinate contract intake, tracking, and questions, while ensuring proper approval routine and signature requirements, including confirming final contract lives in the contract management system
Manage collection of new vendor certificates of insurance and rolling annual collection
Manage and track Scooter’s Coffee trademark portfolio and renewal deadlines
Assist outside counsel with USPTO filings, including gathering of required documentation, and for oppositions on corporate portfolio
Review and track trademark watch reports and pursue next steps on violating marks, including drafting of cease and desist letters and managing opposition notices
Complete initial knockout searches for potential use and trademark applications
Assist CLO and Senior Director with trademark enforcement matters
Create and maintain legal request process and provide other legal project management support
Parter with legal to review and update employee handbooks, the franchise operations manual, and franchise communications
Create and maintain legal self-service resources and documentation to educate stakeholders on processes to drive efficiency
Support development of legal training materials for internal business teams
Monitor and report on team workload, contract cycle times, and SLA adherence
Support the annual FDD renewal process, including working with external counsel and Scooter’s Coffee leadership to ensure timely filings and regulatory compliance
Assist with cross-functional guidance to marketing, sales and compliance teams on franchise compliance matters
Draft SOPs and compliance resources covering disclosure protocols, SBA Franchise Directory Guidance, and broker registration requirements
Draft and manage franchisee market test (pilot) agreements
Partner with operations and supply chain on new vendor partnerships for franchise system

Required

Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification required
Experience with contract lifecycle management tools (e.g., DocuSign CLM, Legisway, Ironclad, ContractPodAI)
At least five (5) years of corporate legal department and/or law firm experience required
Highly organized and self-driven, with the ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment across multiple projects
Ability to interact and build relationships with people at all levels of the organization, and across the franchise system
Demonstrated organization skills and strong attention to detail
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong research skills
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, Power Point, and contract management software

Preferred

Franchising experience is strongly preferred, but not required
