Responsibilities

Utilize internal and external resources to scan for and filter through daily climate news & newsletters, publications and media updates
Efficiently analyze and synthesize dense environmental topics while populating our weekly climate media toolkit, INSIDE THE MOVEMENT (ITM)
Monitor climate content and creators across social platforms
Write and edit copy and occasionally offer input on other video projects
Transcribe original interviews and log video footage
Collaborate in the writing and editing process of both ITM and video projects and participate in Writers' Room
Conduct meaningful and in-depth research on a variety of environmental and climate topics
Help with digital maintenance, data entry and quality control
Practice skillful and effective communication among fellow interns and staff
Learn in a professional environment and explore potential career paths

Required

You are either a graduate student, recent graduate, or undergraduate student pursuing a four-year degree at a college or university in one of the following or related disciplines: Environmental Sciences/Studies, Communications, Journalism, or Media/Digital Media
All applicants must have experience or study related to the climate crisis and/or YEARS' work of creating the best content about climate change using the most effective communications strategies
Ability to work via Zoom, Slack, email and phone during designated hours within this fully remote internship conducted entirely online
All applicants must be available for two full 8-hour workdays or for an approximate total of 16-20 hrs/wk. Work hours are during the windows of 9am-5pm ET, Monday-Thursday, even for those not in the eastern time zone. Some flexibility can be accommodated. [internship length is flexible with 6 month minimum commitment]
