Systems Engineer - Level 2/3 GPI - Mission Engineer
Northrop Grumman is a leading aerospace and defense technology company, and they are seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 2 or 3 to support the Glide Phase Interceptor program. The role involves conducting modeling and simulation studies, developing system simulation solutions, and contributing to mission engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities
Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis studies across multi-domain mission threads, company kill-chain initiatives, and concept architectures
Develop and integrate system simulation solutions, performance models, and algorithms to perform system-of-systems trades and assess architecture alternatives for delivering an effect, data, or capability within a broader campaign
Contribute to the development and implementation of a mission engineering capabilities including: MS&A tools/infrastructure, processes, and strategies
Executes mission engineering analysis with oversight from senior personnel
Generates Engineering Analysis Reports to support higher level program documents (Timeline, PIDS, CIDS)
Develops Requirements content resulting from Mission Engineering Studies
Translates vehicle mission level analysis into component level specifications
Supports Program Special Studies on an AS Required Basis
Supports Development of Content for Systems Engineering Technical Reviews as Required
The candidate should possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level interceptor requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments and participate in system level verification/data review activities
The candidate should possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously and possess demonstrated mentoring/training skills
Support risk management (identifies potential risk) and trade study processes
Candidate should be knowledgeable about agile principles and have demonstrated the ability to facilitate an agile development process
Interface with IPT engineering staff as required
Qualification
Required
Requires BS in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years related experience, Masters Degree with 0 years of related experience
Requires BS in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years related experience, Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience or PhD with 1 year of experience
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred
Active US DoD Secret security clearance, or higher
Experience in Weapons Systems to include design, simulation, and performance prediction
Experience with integrated system and broad technical judgement
Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system modeling and simulation processes
Familiarity with the MDA organization and its methods of technical execution and review
Experience with multiple types of launch platforms
Experience with hypersonic weapons, and command and control technology
Experience with AEGIS weapon system
Willingness to work fast paced development programs
Ability to travel is required
Experience leading within and IPT organization as a lead or a SME
