The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Industrial and Systems Engineering program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses, engaging in research, and providing service to the department and university.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Teaching ISE courses and labs
Engaging in research and scholarly activities
Providing service to the department and the university
Developing curriculum
Academic assessment
Undergraduate research and scholarly activities
Advising students and/or student organizations
Participating in K-12 outreach
Serving in department, college, and university committees
Teaching graduate level courses as part of the online MS Engineering program

Qualification

Ph.D. in EngineeringTeaching Industrial EngineeringSystems EngineeringManufacturing Systems DesignSimulationFacilities DesignEffective PedagogyOral CommunicationWritten Communication

Required

Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field, earned prior to the start date
Baccalaureate degree in any engineering discipline or a closely related field
Desire and ability to teach industrial and systems engineering courses
Ability to engage in effective and inclusive pedagogy to teach undergraduate students
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred

Ability to teach System Simulation, Engineering Systems Design, Industrial Engineering Computer Applications, Manufacturing Systems Design
Willingness to develop and teach courses in Smart Manufacturing Systems including robotics, automation, digital twin, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), and Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies
