Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician

Forbo Movement Systems is seeking an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

Apply electrical skills in order to perform corrective and preventative maintenance for production, fabrication, service equipment, and facilities
Ability to read electrical schematics
Hardwire/relay logic
Hands on exposure to automation and PLCs
Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
Experience with 480VAC,120v AC, 24vDC and 4-20mA systems
Capable of interpreting schematics, blueprints, and PI&D drawings
Troubleshoot; evaluate and repair; devise and improvise; make corrections or adjustments; use tools and testing devices to maintain equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Manager
Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment, facilities equipment, laboratory equipment and testing equipment
Identify ways to improve our maintenance program through continuous improvement techniques, technology and knowledge sharing
Maintain awareness of new systems and techniques in order to upgrade existing equipment and processes
Follow safety procedures and work carefully at all times to prevent injuries and avoid damage to company property
Complete and maintain all required reports
Effectively communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers to achieve company goals and objectives
Regularly keep equipment and work area clean and organized
Routinely check tools to keep in proper working order
Help maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies

Required

High school diploma or GED
3 years experience performing Industrial electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Ability to independently and safely use all required tools and equipment
Industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read electrical schematics
Hardwire/relay logic
Hands on exposure to automation and PLCs
Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
Experience with 480VAC, 120v AC, 24vDC and 4-20mA systems
Capable of interpreting schematics, blueprints, and PI&D drawings
In depth PLC knowledge; Root cause analysis
Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment, facilities equipment, laboratory equipment and testing equipment
Knowledge of safe working practices such as lock out tag out, confined space, PPE, NFPA arc flash
Regular and predictable attendance
Complete and maintain all required reports
Effectively communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers to achieve company goals and objectives
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing and walking
Frequent bending, stretching, reaching, crawling, squatting, and lying in prone position
Occasional pushing or pulling using medium force
Speak clearly and distinctly to communicate verbally with others
Hear clearly in order to understand verbal communications from others and to hear the sounds of running equipment to detect mechanical problems
Color vision to distinguish between color-coded electric wiring
Manual dexterity for fine manipulation of equipment wiring and installing/repairing machine parts/components
May be required at times to work in close proximity to industry machinery
Possible exposure to chemical vapors/odors
Possible exposure to moving mechanical parts including cutting blades, and rollers which may subject worker to possible cuts, fractures, or crushed hands, feet or other body parts
Possible exposure to electrical shock or electrocution
Moderate noise level
Working in high temperature ranges occasionally and may be required at times to work outside in inclement weather
May be required to work in confined areas, and open-spaced heights up to thirty feet
