Responsibilities
Design and develop transportation projects including roads, highways, and traffic management systems that directly improve how people move
Collaborate with planners, engineers, contractors, and public agencies to deliver exceptional results
Assist with project management activities such as scheduling, cost estimation, and resource planning
Prepare engineering designs and documentation that align with VDOT standards
Support and mentor junior team members while upholding high technical standards
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (or related field)
4–7 years of hands-on experience in transportation design and/or project management
PE license in Virginia or EIT with the ability to obtain PE within 1 year
Familiarity with VDOT standards and project delivery processes
Strong communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
Preferred
Proficiency in MicroStation
