Responsibilities

Monitor and support compliance with on-site health and safety programs
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
Lead site safety meetings
Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training
Help ensure the implementation and maintenance of hazard communication, PPE, and emergency response protocols

Required

7 years full-time work experience in building construction safety
5 years of UT System project experience
A 4-year degree in construction safety
5 years of field experience in construction safety management experience
Knowledge and experience for Emergency First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Must have practical knowledge, working experience, and documented continuing education in all of the following: Fall protection, Scaffolds (ground supported and suspended), Excavation/trench, Confined space (permit/non-permit), Crane operations, Electrical, Incident investigation, Industrial hygiene for construction, Fire protection and prevention, Lockout/tagout, Basic crane rigging, Respiratory protection
Demonstrate continuing safety training as a PSA
Certification of completion for the following: OSHA 510 (Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry), OSHA 500 (Trainer Course for Construction) or OSHA 502 (Update for the Construction Industry Outreach Trainer). The certificate must be dated no later than 2020

Preferred

CSP (Certified Safety Professional) Certified
CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) Certified
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
