Senior Manager, Public Policy
Amazon is a leading company in the public policy domain, and they are seeking a Senior Manager, Public Policy to lead their efforts before Congressional Republicans. Responsibilities
Lead Amazon’s public policy efforts before Congressional Republicans
Develop and execute government affairs advocacy objectives and political priorities for Amazon at the federal level
Set the public policy and advocacy agenda for Amazon’s businesses
Work collaboratively and transparently with others in public policy, legal, and business units
Assess and communicate potential government activities back to the business
Develop mitigation or enhancement strategies and positions
Help coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives
Educate Members of Congress and their staff on related policy issues
Facilitate high-level meetings between executives and key stakeholders
Determine, maintain, and staff appropriate corporate membership opportunities in industry associations and political organizations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development)
A minimum of 10 years of relevant public policy experience, a keen working understanding of engaging with federal policymakers, and broad government relations strategy experience
An ability and desire to travel is required
Preferred
Experience in regulatory frameworks and policy analysis methodologies
Demonstrated ability to be both a substantive issue expert on matters related to Amazon's business and a manager of complex political relationships
Strong written and verbal communications skills and experience creating and effectively delivering factual, relevant, and easily understandable talking points and other messaging
