Responsibilities

Ensure that daily assigned Value Added work order(s) meet productivity goals, quality requirements and that customer expectations are being followed per the customer’s SOP’s and guidelines
This is to be accomplished through timely and periodic checks during the production process and documenting results of the audits conducted
Works the hours needed to support the business goals (including overtime, weekends and holidays)
Remains open-minded, performs a wide variety of job tasks, transitions from task to task effectively (multi-task)
Always present and punctual; arrives prepared for work
Completes work in a timely, accurate and consistent manner
Plan and schedule your time off in advance with your supervisor or manager
Avoid unscheduled days off which will result in attendance points
Maintains a 'Whatever it Takes' attitude
Lives by company stated values and inspires others
Approaches new tasks with an interest to learn
Has the ability to learn techniques as job task requirements change
Seeks out additional work when job tasks are completed

Participate in pre-shift meetings and department meetings
Display pride in your work area by maintaining daily housekeeping of our operations building, equipment, break rooms, restrooms, smoke areas, etc. Promote teamwork and assist in all areas and processes in the operation as needed / required
Maintains high standards despite pressing deadlines
Produces accurate, thorough and professional work
Understands the importance of 'Only Handle It Once – OHIO', by completing work correctly the first time
Follows all written and verbal instructions provided by management, project leader, etc
Shares all information in a professional and factual manner ensuring the best decisions are made for the company
Report all issues to your manager/supervisor
Maintains an appropriate appearance and dresses in accordance with the established dress code guidelines to your respective position
Follows all rules, guideline, and practices
Informs supervisor / manager immediately if unsafe conduct or conditions arise
The ability to document and record findings in a legible and timely manner
The ability to provide work direction and to motivate work force to achieve daily goals
The ability to perform basic arithmetic, reading and writing skills
The ability to perform basic mechanical functions
The ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
Must have experience and be knowledgeable about food safety or willing to receive training in food safety
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs., sit, stand and walk for extended periods
Must be able to twist, stoop, squat and reach above shoulder level
Must be able to push, pull, remove and place product in various configurations, involving use of fingers, hands, arms, etc
Meet established hourly production standards and escalate all production issues per SOP
Review and understand the customer’s work instructions prior to working on any assigned orders
If applicable, keep visual goal chart updated hourly
Understand all procedures for operating machines
Have a good working knowledge of the production area lines and processes you are assigned
Understand hourly production progress via goal board display or established metrics
Be able to take work direction from management personnel
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and specific customer work instructions in terms of date coding product, expiration dates, quality of product being packaged, etc
All production inspections will be documented via the established documents at appointed intervals throughout the work shift. Management will provide the intervals
Inspections must be accurate and thorough in documenting findings during the inspection process
Alert management immediately on all non-conformance issues
Immediately report any issue relating to personnel, productivity Value Add Inspection form and submitted at end of shift
Make recommendations to improve efficiency in the daily processes
Understand all procedures for operating machines
Report all incidents/accidents or unsafe acts immediately to your supervisor/ manager
Promote safety awareness with your teammates and provide safety suggestions
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Ensure all safety guards are in place on all equipment
Ensure all safety policies, practices and SOPs are being followed
Perform visual inspections for the following items (not an inclusive listing): carton formation, date coding being applied to finished good carton, quality of product packaging, product expiration dates, production dates, product correctness going in to cartons, product is damage free, pallet build formation (TiHi), machine wrap application, pallet label application, etc
Follow established protocols during the inspection process
Responsible for performing initial product inspection at the beginning of every new production run ensuring overall quality of the product being produced
Responsible for conducting periodic interval inspections as designated by management
Ensure all completed documents are accurate in terms of recorded information. Including but not limited to completed documents, legibility of information being recorded, all non-conformances documented, all quality checks are clearly defined in terms of recorded times, initials, date, filing completed documents at the end of the work shift
Accurately complete associated paperwork (including customer required documentation), Production Report, Production Audit
