Responsibilities

Work autonomously to identify root causes of problems and implement solutions
Respond to breakdowns and assist in troubleshooting and restoring equipment to operation
Oversee the operation of Facility systems including HVAC, process water distribution/cooling towers, natural gas distribution, electrical distribution, fire protection systems, and Plant utilities
Partner with UAW skilled trades and provide engineering support/guidance while honoring collective bargaining agreements and safe work practices
Work closely with UAW skilled trades to coordinate maintenance work, systems repairs, and Project execution including vetting work with outside contractors and UAW Plant skilled trades
Project and Construction Management - Scope, plan, and manage all Facility construction and upgrade Projects including design review, budgeting, contractor supervision, and schedule management
Support Capital planning by identifying infrastructure needs and preparing Project cost justifications and appropriation request
Manage all phases of large Capital Projects and major Facility upgrade Projects from Scope development to Project execution
Frequently cover daily and weekly overtime in addition to covering for absences among the Maintenance Process Coach team

Required

High school diploma / GED
5+ years of Facility, Plant Engineering, or Industrial Maintenance experience – UAW automotive preferred
Strong technical understanding of building systems, utilities, and industrial infrastructure
Demonstrable experience implementing continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodology
Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across diverse teams
Ability to work frequent weekend and daily overtime

Preferred

Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or have similar equivalent experience
Ability to read and update mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings using AutoCAD
Ford Computer Systems - I-ERP, SAP, TWO's, Maximo, On Track
