LHH is assisting a Dallas law firm in seeking a Patent Prosecution Docketing Paralegal. This role involves performing detailed and complex docketing tasks related to the patent prosecution process while collaborating with attorneys and clients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Follow applicable ethical rules (Texas Bar, USPTO) and firm professional liability requirements
Maintain the IP docketing database; review and extract key data from incoming correspondence
Track and calculate patent prosecution deadlines based on PTO rules and client-specific requirements
Verify, process, and docket filings and other prosecution activity
Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to ensure dockets are accurate, complete, and up to date
Coordinate daily docketing tasks with team members to ensure full coverage
Support overall patent prosecution docketing workflow and assist with related tasks
Maintain punctual and reliable attendance
Work occasional overtime when necessary to meet workload demands

Required

Strong organizational abilities and experience managing multiple deadlines
High degree of accuracy and close attention to detail
Ability to calculate deadlines precisely
Skilled in proofreading for grammar, context, and accuracy
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Professional interpersonal communication
Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment
Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and docketing systems
Ability to maintain and manage complex docketing systems over time
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of five years of patent prosecution experience (specifically docketing or paralegal work)
Must have solid foundational paralegal and/or docketing experience in patent prosecution

Preferred

Strong preference for candidates with stable work histories and long-term tenure
