Responsibilities
Prepare 3D models and drawings using Catia V5 R21 to R32
Perform checking functions and coordinate designs with both project and manufacturing engineers
Create complex and simple detail, sub-assembly, and top assembly drawings
Write engineering orders and make changes to existing drawings
Create assemblies and drawings for test procedures
Design components using ACS or local coordinates
Knowledge of Catia FTA workbench and MBD applications in aerospace engineering
Perform weight calculations (hand or Catia V5)
Perform design checks of models and drawings created by other drafters
Strong understanding of GD&T practices per ASME and ANSI standards
Create tooling models and drawings
Aid the shop, customers and vendors in reading and interpreting company and customer drawings
Develop assembly BOMs
Experience with PLM software (Enovia) and configuration management practices (preferred)
Perform tolerance stack-ups and interference checks as needed
Qualification
Required
Knowledgeable of Catia V5 as it relates to company design needs
Skilled in all facets of 3D modeling in Catia V5. Should be at an 'expert' level in creating sketch-based solids and geometric surfacing
Creates complex and simple detail, sub-assembly, and top assembly drawings
Writes engineering orders and makes changes to existing drawings
Creates assemblies and drawings for test procedures
Knowledgeable in ACS (aircraft coordinate systems) and can design components using ACS or local coordinates
Knowledge of Catia FTA workbench and MBD (Model Based Definition) and its applications in the aerospace engineering environment and documentation
Performs weight calculations (hand or Catia V5)
Performs design checks of models and drawings created by other drafters
Strong understanding of GD&T practices per ASME and ANSI standards
Manufacturing knowledge in the machining of metallic components and sheet metal forming
Creates tooling models and drawings
Aids the shop, customers and vendors in reading and interpreting company and customer drawings to facilitate manufacturing
Develop assembly BOMs
Performs tolerance stack-ups and interference checks as needed
Must be a US Cit or Greencard Holder
