Facilities Staff Engineer (Mechanical)
Helion is a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, focused on building the world's first fusion power plant. The Facilities Staff Engineer (Mechanical) will be responsible for designing and implementing mechanical systems for Helion's facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Own the design, performance, and lifecycle of mechanical systems, including HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, exhaust, and other utilities
Establish and maintain standards for mechanical infrastructure across new and existing sites
Lead facility mechanical projects — from scope and design through construction, commissioning, and operations
Troubleshoot system issues and drive continuous improvement in reliability, sustainability, and cost efficiency
Manage contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure quality and compliance with technical and safety requirements
Partner with EH&S to maintain compliance with codes, permitting, and environmental regulations
Contribute to long-term facilities planning to support Helion's expansion
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
5+ years of experience in facilities, building systems engineering, or mechanical infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of HVAC, utilities, plumbing, and building automation systems
Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, balancing technical depth with execution
Experience collaborating with contractors, design teams, and permitting authorities
Strong communication skills and ability to partner across technical and non-technical teams
Resourceful, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment
