Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service by having a strong understanding of products and services to address customer questions
Responsible for seasonal lawn and garden equipment service and warranty
Approach customers storewide, ask if assistance is needed and take them to the location of merchandise
Explain benefits and features of merchandise to customers and suggest add-on merchandise
Maintain general knowledge of all products, may need to have expertise in specific product areas
Compute price quotes, order merchandise from order catalog, provide customers with business card (name and contact information), and follow up on customer special orders
Assist in product assembly per manufacture instructions of all power equipment and other items as directed
Reviewing after the sale warranty and safety features to customers; ensuring these are explained and recorded
Process product registration after the sale
Process and record manufacture warranty claims and payments
Answer telephone and customer questions within established guidelines
Practice and maintain security measures
Communicate out-of-stocks using hot sheet/new item requests
Utilize radio in a professional manner to seek assistance if needed
Assist customers with check out and carryout’s, as well as loading and unloading of items
Maintain accuracy of shelf tagging, arrange merchandise by shelf label, and set up merchandise displays
Receive merchandise shipments, and check them against receiving reports
Remove merchandise from packaging, match items with stock numbers, and price and tag merchandise
Restock shelves and displays; assemble products as needed
Checking and verifying fluid levels of gas-powered items before product leaves the store
Process Interstore transfers
Cleaning duties which include but aren’t limited to: facing merchandise, dusting shelves/displays and merchandise, sweeping and vacuuming, cleaning windows, and emptying trash
Maintain cleanliness and merchandising that meets or exceeds the Theisen’s Brand requirements
Other tasks as requested by management may include but are not limited to: checking desk/mail box, preparing and participating in physical inventory, unloading warehouse delivery trucks, delivering merchandise to customers, and running cash registers
Qualification
Required
Sthil Silver/Gold Certifications or the ability to attain in 30/60 days
18+ years of age due to OSHA requirements
Great customer service skills
Sthil Silver/Gold Certification
Basic math skills
Exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics
Ability to answer phones, and learn cash register functions
Familiar with forklift and pallet jack operations and the ability to be certified to run a forklift
Excellent verbal communication skills
Possess a positive attitude, good listening skills and an outgoing personality
Position requires safety toe shoes
Position requires safety glasses while assembling
Preferred
3-12 months retail experience preferred
Vocational or work experience in small engine repair preferred
