Responsibilities

Respond promptly and professionally to all guest comments and concerns; escalate issues to the immediate supervisor and assist in implementing corrective measures when necessary
Warmly greet guests upon arrival, provide menus, and ensure a welcoming experience
Seat guests at tables or designated waiting areas, ensuring comfort and efficiency
Assign tables based on guest preferences, party size, and operational flow
Inspect dining and serving areas regularly to maintain cleanliness and proper setup standards
Engage with guests during their visit to confirm satisfaction and address any concerns promptly
Manage and accurately record dining reservations and waitlists
Maintain clear communication with kitchen staff, management, and servers to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
Inform guests about daily specials, featured menu items, and restaurant offerings
Direct guests to appropriate waiting areas, such as lounges, when necessary
Operate point-of-sale systems to process payments for food and beverages (if applicable)
Prepare and reconcile cash receipts at the end of shifts (if applicable)
Supervise and coordinate host team activities to ensure prompt, courteous service
Assist in onboarding and training new hosts to uphold service standards
Support planning and execution of special events and functions as needed

Required

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating procedures
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

Preferred

Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
