Sensory Kitchen Operations Manager – Member’s Mark

Walmart Canada is seeking a Sensory Kitchen Operations Manager for their Sam’s Club Member’s Mark team. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient and safe operations of test kitchens, supporting product innovation through sensory testing and kitchen management.

Responsibilities

Receive deliveries from suppliers and PMDC between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday–Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Friday
Track supplier and freight deliveries using the Sample Room Delivery Tracker
Manage freight activities, including receiving, unboxing, and organizing materials
Label incoming products and maintain accurate sample identification
Coordinate outbound sample shipments through the Mail Room, collaborating with PD and PMDC as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of cooler, freezer, and ambient storage areas
Remind PD and Merchant teams of scheduled cooler/freezer cleanouts
Record and monitor temperatures across all storage units
Ensure dishwashers and sinks are operating properly and stocked with required soap and sanitizer
Submit and manage facility service requests for the Test Kitchen and kitchenette areas
Coordinate with Facilities and Maintenance teams on equipment deliveries, installations, and construction projects
Order and track basic kitchen supplies to maintain stock levels
Keep kitchenette spaces tidy and stocked with necessary items
Serve as the primary contact for supplier interactions within the Sensory Kitchen
Provide receiving door coverage as needed, including signage and staffing coordination
Order routine supplies, including plates, utensils, napkins, containers, and cleaning chemicals
Manage daily operations between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with occasional schedule flexibility
Coordinate sensory testing for large equipment used in Clubs (e.g., Combotherm ovens, meat slicers, Henny Penny fryers)
Perform setup tasks such as unloading dishes, checking emails, assisting with labeling, and preparing for testing or IHUT sessions
Label materials for testing (cups, containers, plates, etc.) as needed
Conduct monthly reviews of supplies and chemicals to ensure adequate stock
Support dry, cooler, and freezer storage organization in collaboration with PD teams
Assist with live event setup and coordination

Required

Associate's degree
5+ years of experience in food operations, culinary management, sensory testing, or project management
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Experience providing excellent customer service
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Experience coordinating logistics, deliveries, or facility operations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data tracking tools (e.g., Excel, SharePoint)
A proactive, 'Here to help' attitude

Preferred

Bachelor's degree
Experience in sensory science operations
Familiarity with HACCP, ServSafe, or other food safety protocols
