Epic Application Analyst (Senior, Mid, Associate)

Penn Medicine is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to patients while conducting innovative research and educating future leaders in medicine. They are seeking a Senior, Mid, or Associate EPIC Application Analyst to support the AI Initiatives team, responsible for the effective implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support of Epic System applications.

Responsibilities

Performs analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving of simple and intermediate complex issues at the technical, interface and application levels. Identifies root-cause, recommends, tests, and implements changes
Provides guidance and support to team members, contribute their expertise to decision-making processes, and collaborate with stakeholders. Communicate their insights, recommendations, and findings to the team and stakeholders
Understands integration between various applications and functionality within those applications. Serves to assure full integration of systems and devices utilizing interfacing standards and vendor provided utilities
Provides customer service and acts as a liaison between the operational departments and Information Services
Serves as application expert with an in depth understanding of application functionalities, data analysis, workflow optimization, and clinical documentation requirements. Utilizes expertise to design, build, install, modify, and test application software to support and optimize operational processes
Clearly defines and articulates to operational stakeholder’s workflow changes that are offered with software/hardware upgrades and best practice solutions as recommended by the vendor
Assists with defining and documenting user requirements and system scope. Reviews and collects information regarding potential system enhancements
Maintains thorough documentation of configurations, customizations, and support processes
Complies with all applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures of Penn Medicine to ensure necessary controls, documentation, and audit trails
Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Required

H.S. Diploma/GED and 8+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Associates degree and 7+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
H.S. Diploma/GED and 6+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Associates degree and 5+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
H.S. Diploma/GED and 4+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare
Associates degree and 3+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare

Preferred

Epic Certification, Proficiency, or Accreditation
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Associates degree and 3+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. Individuals with other majors may be considered with internship or other IT related experience
