Responsibilities
Performing field materials testing of soil, asphalt, and concrete
Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations provided
Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results
Evaluating site conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations
Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent required
ICC Certifications in soils, structural masonry, or reinforced concrete are required
Or an Engineering Intern (EI) with at least 1 year of relevant experience
ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing through routine reports and correspondence
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written
Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs. on a continual basis in all weather conditions
Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R's pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
Requires a valid, clean driver's license, as travel to job sites is required
Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver's license to fulfill travel requirements of this position
