Part-Time Research Analyst, Data & Surveillance (Massachusetts Research & Education Collaborative)
Kindbridge Research Institute (KRI) is pioneering work in gambling-related mental health as a non-profit focused on research and community well-being. They are seeking a Part-Time Data & Surveillance Research Analyst to analyze state surveillance datasets, uncover patterns related to gambling harm, and support communities impacted by structural inequities.

Responsibilities
Conduct statistical analyses of BRFSS, Youth Health Survey, and other state surveillance datasets to identify patterns and risk factors related to gambling-related harm
Manage, clean, and organize large datasets to ensure accuracy, security, and high analytical integrity
Support development and implementation of the Statewide Surveillance System Plan in collaboration with KRI leadership and external partners
Conduct stratified analyses by race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, and geography to identify inequities and inform targeted interventions
Assist in preparing peer-reviewed manuscripts, reports, and scientific conference materials
Develop analytic summaries for internal planning and external dissemination
Provide analytical support, training, or mentorship to team members and collaborators as needed
Maintain organized data workflows, code documentation, and version control systems
Report to the Project Manager and communicate progress, challenges, and needs
Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive research environment grounded in scientific rigor and continuous learning
Qualification
Required
Master's degree (completed or in progress) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a related quantitative field
Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS, SPSS, or Stata
Experience with public health surveillance data, survey methodology, and large dataset management
Strong understanding of health equity frameworks and disparities research
Ability to work independently with attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
Preferred
Experience with BRFSS or other state-level surveillance datasets is a plus
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and IRB/human subjects research processes
Familiarity with behavioral health, addiction, public health, or gambling-related research
Knowledge of Massachusetts public health data systems is beneficial
