Responsibilities

Learn basic investigatory tactics and follow Worker Protection cases through from initial interview with a claimant to data entry, investigation, and resolution
Assist in identifying issues revolving around underpayments of prevailing wage rates
Utilize the certified payroll system to identify potential underpayments
Be trained in confidentiality requirements
Learn basic safety protocols and accompany members of Strike Force and the Albany District Office on routine visits to construction sites in the Capitol region
Assist investigators in contacting workers to gather follow up information and in determining the location of active construction projects
Assist in routine tasks such as scanning documents and organizing files

Required

Be 18 years of age or older
Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent

Preferred

Competency and proficiency at utilizing various technological data systems is preferred
A willingness to meet with construction workers in the field and the ability to connect with them is a must
Preferred minimum education level: Junior
Preferred maximum education level: 3rd Year Law Student
