Responsibilities

Conduct a full assessment of the current Power BI application architecture

Identify inefficiencies in data models, queries, DAX calculations, visuals, refresh cycles, and overall performance

Implement best practices to improve speed, load times, refresh reliability, and user experience

Recommend and execute redesigns where structurally necessary

Work with complex, large-scale datasets

Simplify and optimize data models for scalability and maintainability

Apply advanced DAX, query folding, aggregation strategies, incremental refresh, and performance tuning

Ensure dashboards follow UI/UX best practices for readability and executive presentation

Coordinate with internal teams responsible for backend systems, data pipelines, and microservices

Validate assumptions about ETL pipelines, refresh schedules, and data availability

Provide guidance to technical teams to ensure the overall ecosystem supports dashboard performance

Interface directly with senior leadership, and other business owners

Translate technical decisions into clear business impacts

Manage expectations around quick turnaround times and iterative improvements

Present findings, proposed changes, and progress updates regularly
