Associate, Alternative Investments

The Associate in Alternative Investments will lead month-end and quarter-end close processes, oversee fund and client transactions, and support year-end audit and tax procedures.

Responsibilities

Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes in coordination with fund administrators, including fund expense preparation and financial package review
Oversee and reconcile fund and client transactions, including capital movements, trading activity, line of credit usage, and expense allocations
Coordinate capital calls and distributions with third-party fund administrators and ensure accurate internal tracking
Support year-end audit procedures by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors and fund administrators
Support year-end tax processes by coordinating with external tax service providers
Assist with annual ADV compliance filings and related regulatory documentation
Collaborate with Client Advisor teams to resolve client inquiries
Interpret and extract key information from fund legal documents, including partnership agreements, offering memorandums, and audited financials
Contribute to team-wide projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and scalability

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related strongly preferred
Minimum 4 years of experience in fund accounting, fund operations, and/or a tax-focused role
Strong understanding of fair value financial statements, hedge and private equity fund structures, and general ledger systems
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation
Proficiency in Excel, strong written and verbal communication abilities
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be willing to execute Corient's Employee Agreement or Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement

Preferred

CPA preferred
Hands-on experience with fund accounting and operations for alternative investments
Prior experience in public accounting, fund administration, or a tax firm
