Responsibilities
Supports finance initiatives and sees objectives through to completion
Records journal entries, analyzes data, and runs queries within the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Expense Management system, administration systems, and related databases
Prepares account reconciliations and certifies to the accuracy and completeness of financial information
Works with various finance functions including expense management, accounts payable, financial reporting, operations accounting, reinsurance and internal audit to understand and improve processes
Assists in preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP and STAT financial reporting and analysis
Supports the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring supporting documentation is in line with company policies
Assesses departmental processes and makes recommendations for improvements and efficiency
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong technology skills and use of various applications/software (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint Peoplesoft, MS Office)
Team player with the ability to work independently in fast-paced dynamic environment
Detail-oriented and solid decision-making skills
Ability to identify and elevate potential issues (accounting, reporting, reconciliation etc.)
Preferred
Knowledge of insurance and financial markets a plus
