The Queens County District Attorney's Office (QDA) is seeking a Director of Network and Security Engineering and Operations, who will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The role involves managing network and security staff, designing and supporting enterprise environments, and ensuring network security and resilience.

Responsibilities

Manage and mentor network and security staff

Design, deploy and support the growing enterprise environment

Lead projects involving LAN/WAN, datacenter, cybersecurity, telecommunications

Work with other network architects to vet designs prior to implementation

Create technical documentation including network diagrams

Work with vendors, carriers and other technical groups to implement new designs and optimize the network

Design wireless environment including controllers and AP

Transfer knowledge of network design to other members of the IT team

Ensure the network is both secure and resilient

Troubleshoot Level 3 network support issues

Analyze the network and implement solutions to increase uptime efficiency and security

Required

Must have excellent communication skills

Experience in handling confidential information

Strong cybersecurity engineering and operational background

Strong knowledge of load balancing technologies

Preferred

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems

Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above

For current New York City employees, a permanent computer-related civil service title is preferred but not required
