Responsibilities

Providing exceptional service to members who contact TFCU via inbound calls or visit branch locations for mortgage assistance

Guiding members through the entire mortgage process while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and delivering a personalized, efficient experience

Assessing creditworthiness, performing financial analysis, and supporting members in achieving their homeownership and financial goals

Maintaining expertise in real estate practices, mortgage products, and industry regulations by participating in ongoing training and applying this knowledge throughout the loan origination process

Required

An associate's degree in business or a relatable field

Two years of sales experience in a financial institution

Applicable financial institution and/or military experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education

Applicable additional education levels may be eligible to satisfy experience requirements

Incumbent Bonding REQUIRED by TFCU's chosen authority

Valid driver's license, maintaining an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

NMLS License

SAFE Act registration required

TFCU University certification required

Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar financial sales role within the mortgage or banking industry

Strong knowledge of FNMA guidelines, VA, mortgage servicing, underwriting procedures including automated underwriting systems, and Fair Housing regulations

Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to build trustful relationships with clients

Familiarity with TILA regulations, escrow processes, loan processing procedures, and credit analysis techniques

Experience with loan origination systems and financial services platforms

Knowledge of real estate practices and real estate law

Knowledge of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act regarding data collection and reporting requirements

Knowledge of the mortgage loan application process

Demonstrates knowledge of TFCU products and procedures once familiarity with TFCU is gained

Knowledge of loan policies, loan rate structure, and federal lending regulations

Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
