Legal.io is an investment organization seeking a Legal Operations Manager to design and scale its Global Legal Operations function. The role focuses on building a data-driven, efficient legal department by partnering with various teams to streamline operations and implement technology solutions.

Responsibilities

Build and execute a scalable Legal Operations roadmap focused on efficiency, automation, and measurable impact

Define and track KPIs and metrics aligned with department and business goals

Drive cross-functional collaboration and resource optimization to align processes and data across Legal, IT, Procurement and other business domains

Implement and integrate legal technologies including eBilling, matter management, and AI tools

Manage legal digital platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft)

Serve as system administrator for legal tech tools (e.g., Spellbook, Coupa CLM, eBilling, etc.)

Promote adoption through training, knowledge sharing, documentation, and change management

Build dashboards and reports to support data-driven decisions

Advance a data-first culture and translate insights into operational improvements

Oversee legal spending, budgeting, forecasting, and outside counsel management in partnership with Finance

Enforce Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines and launch eBilling system and processes to achieve legal spend savings

Manage performance and costs with external law firms and other legal service providers

Required

6+ years of Legal Operations or related experience

Proven success building or scaling a Legal Ops function as a first-time legal ops hire

Hands-on experience with CLM, data analysis, eBilling, AI and process automation tools

Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with ability to manage personal and team priorities across busy schedules

Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with familiarity and passion for leveraging AI to gain efficiencies including OpenAI and CoPilot
