Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring commercial loan documentation packages are complete and ready for closing
Responsibility and authority to deny or delay loan closing based on findings of the commercial loan documentation package review
Review commercial loan packages for: Completeness, accuracy, and legality of the documentation
Compliance with regulatory requirements
Adherence to bank policy/procedures
Adherence to all terms, conditions and requirements of the loan approval
Ensure adequate approval authority is obtained
Collaborate with Loan Processors, Lending Assistants and Commercial Lenders to ensure all documentation and due diligence is completed accurately prior to loan closing
Makes decisions, recommendations and provides guidance to Loan Processors, Lending Assistants and Commercial Lenders for additional documentation as applicable
Review for Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) compliance, as applicable
Verify flood and hazard insurance requirements are met/fulfilled, including but not limited to validation of coverage and documentation of loss payee
Ensure compliance with SBA requirements, including but not limited to validation of SBA Authorization against Bank loan documents
Coordinate handoff to booking and funding
Maintain a thorough understanding of the documentation requirements of commercial loans and SBA loans
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5 + years commercial loan documentation experience to include experience in commercial loan documentation review, quality control, and/or audit review
Working knowledge of commercial loan documentation, loan policy, and banking regulations
Strong decision making and organizational skills with attention to detail
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent business experience in commercial banking loan servicing or loan administration, internal audit, risk management, quality assurance or quality control
Basic accounting knowledge
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in dynamic environment, that demands the ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities
Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving skills
Detail oriented, with a high degree of accuracy
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Proficiency in Adobe Reader and various internet browsers
Experience with smart device(s), dual monitors, copier, fax, scanner, phone system, printers, calculators, telephone headsets and other electronic devices
Core loan processing system and imaging system experience
Ability to resolve conflict and provide resolution professionally and in an empathetic manner to customers
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative, and make effective decisions
Ability to read and interpret loan documents & data to others
Professional verbal and written communication skills, on the phone and in person
Proven organizational skills with ability to multi-task and follow assigned tasks through completion
Must be able to reach, bend and lift files equivalent of up to 25 lbs
Must be able to sit for most of the day in front of a computer
Must be able to write, speak and hear to communicate with customers
Must be able to read from a computer screen and other paper reports
Must be able to type on keyboard
Must be able to be mobile in an office environment
Preferred
Commercial loan processing
Experience in closing C&I and CRE loans
Experience with the LaserPro loan documentation software
Experience with Jack Henry Silverlake Core Processing System and Jack Henry Synergy Imaging
Working knowledge of Small Business Administration (SBA) Standard Operating Procedures
