Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) is seeking an IT Intern for a PC Lab who will provide direct technical and user support for lab hardware, software, and networking. The intern will be responsible for troubleshooting computer issues, installing and configuring operating systems and applications, and ensuring all lab equipment is operational and available for users.

Information Technology

Responsibilities

Provides first line customer support of information systems to worldwide system users

Uses the Cisco Call Management System for incoming and outgoing phone conversations

Identifies customer problems and where possible corrects the problems

Determines the nature and urgency of incoming problems. Where required notifies shift lead and or supervisor of urgent or sensitive problem areas

Obtains all mandatory information and enough of a description to sufficiently describe the problem and dispatch appropriate assistance for problems not resolved during initial conversation

Documents customer support tickets by using an automated help desk tracking system

Monitors and updates status of open support tickets and provides feedback status to customers

May provide daily and weekly productivity reports or assist in preparation of such reports

Ensure implement the rigorous application of Information Security Information Assurance policies principles and practices in the delivery of Systems Applications and or Services Hardware and Software

Interns job duties are specified in the Individual Assignment Plan developed by the hiring Code department
