Responsibilities
Conduct, record, and report comprehensive inspections to assess mechanical systems, safety features, and overall vehicle condition
Diagnose mechanical issues related to engines, transmissions, suspension systems, braking systems, electrical systems, and other truck or trailer components
Perform timely repairs and replacements of damaged or worn parts such as tires, brakes, bearings, fuel systems, HVAC systems, and hydraulic systems
Perform and record preventative maintenance tasks, including but not limited to oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and lubrication of moving components
Test vehicle systems after repairs to verify proper functionality and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate service logs, repair records, and inspection documentation in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations
Communicate recommendations for repairs or proactive maintenance to management to prevent downtime or mechanical failures
Schedule warranty work as needed with various equipment manufacturers
Ensure adherence to workplace safety protocols and proper handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials
Stay updated with industry best practices, evolving standards, and emerging vehicle technologies to enhance service expertise
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the shop and surrounding areas
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
3+ years of commercial vehicle maintenance experience required or recent graduate from an accredited school
Preferred
ASE Certifications preferred
Class A CDL preferred
