Responsibilities
The intern will work closely with the engineering team by performing modeling and drawing updates under the close supervision of senior engineers
They will be introduced to basic FAA and aircraft retrofit requirements, aircraft manual usage, part conformity and quality process gates
Airbus/Boeing aircraft overview and 3D modeling approaches, Airbus/Boeing design philosophies, Siemens NX modeling/drawing & Teamcenter training, PAC Change process & Agile training, may include additional CAD modeling and PLM tools
The intern will be put into the actual workflow of on-going customer programs
They could even be thrown into rapid engineering development to support engineers in the field (non-travel) or in support of AOG (Aircraft on Ground) changes
The intern will gain an understanding of what it takes to retrofit commercial aircraft and some exposure to the rules and regulation that govern this activity
They will gain high level understanding parametric modeling, how drawings are created from the models, and how these designs get Panasonic systems installed into the aircraft
They will learn how Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) and change management programs help the engineer and Panasonic control our designs and help us meet our quality and on-time delivery goals
They will also learn how we operate in a team environment; how junior engineers work with senior engineers to ensure we meet all our design requirements
The intern will be exposed to all program meetings, design milestones, and customer meetings to get a more complete picture of what Mechanical Engineers do as part of our team
