AmeriCorps is a national service program, and the City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA program aims to build capacity for local neighborhoods and communities. The Youth Initiatives Resource Development VISTA will work on increasing student participation in programs and building partnerships to support youth in Title I schools.

Responsibilities

Increase the number of students from Title I schools who participate in City of Austin Youth Initiatives programs
Build partnerships with Title I specialists and/or other staff members of Title I schools to promote student involvement in Youth Initiatives programs
Recruit new organizations to partner in Youth Initiatives programs, especially minority-led organizations and organizations in target communities
Refine and expand existing databases for Youth Career Fest vendors and Summer Internship Program sites to better determine unrepresented or underrepresented career/schooling paths and the demographics of site leadership
Explore potential funding sources to increase the reach and success of Youth Initiatives programs, especially in regards to target communities
