Payroll Records Assistant
PrestigePEO is a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and Human Resources outsourcing company located in Brunswick. They are seeking a Payroll Records Assistant responsible for managing the onboarding process, maintaining employee files, processing payroll, and performing various administrative tasks related to payroll processing.

Responsibilities
Verify and enter data related to new hires, terminations, time and attendance, taxes, and deductions
Assist new employees in completing the onboarding process
Scan and index employee files into the document imaging system
Assist in processing payroll on a regular basis, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees
Respond to employee payroll inquiries, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues or discrepancies
Assist in the preparation and distribution of various payroll reports, such as year-end tax forms and payroll summaries
Ensure compliance with Federal, state and local Wage & Hour laws as well as client-specific policies
Collaborate with the HR, Benefits, and Retirement departments to ensure accurate administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave accruals
Support the Payroll Manager in conducting periodic audits of payroll records to identify and correct any errors or discrepancies
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and payroll records
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficient in computer applications, such as MS Word and Excel
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and maintain a high level of professionalism
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with employees and answer inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Preferred
Experience working in payroll or accounting-related position a plus
