Grant Development and Stewardship Specialist (Development Grants Specialist)

The City University of New York is seeking a Grant Development and Stewardship Specialist to support LaGuardia Community College in identifying funding opportunities and developing grant proposals. This role involves collaboration with faculty and staff to secure funding and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

Responsibilities

Research and identify potential funding sources, including federal, state, and private grant opportunities
Match available funding opportunities with current needs based on the college’s strategic plan and priorities identified by leadership across the college
Collaborate with faculty, staff and administrators to develop and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and deadlines
Research and write non-technical sections of proposal narratives
Prepare draft budgets according to sponsor, CUNY and college guidelines; finalize budgets for submissions based on feedback from PIs and other college departments as needed
Monitor reporting deadlines, draft and submit progress reports and ensure compliance with sponsor reporting requirements
Route proposals for college approval and maintain complete records of submissions in CUNY’s electronic system
Provide training and support to faculty and staff on grant writing and program development
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required

Preferred

Knowledge of funding sources and grant application processes
Experience in grant writing and proposal submission
Strong research, writing, and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
