Aircraft Assembler Seal/Wing Tank Mechanics

The Boeing Company is looking for Experienced Aircraft Assembler Seal/Wing Tank Mechanics to assist with multiple areas of the 787 production system in North Charleston, South Carolina. Responsibilities

Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications
Ability to adhere to high standards of safety and quality
Comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
Ensure your work conforms to engineering drawings and specifications, has First Pass Quality (FPQ) and is free from Foreign Object Debris
Use computers and software applications in a production environment
Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications
Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task you are performing
Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. ladders, tiger and aerial lifts)
Use various hand tools
Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting)
Working around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise
Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other)
Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents
Carrying/Lifting up to 10-35 pounds
Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), Handling, Kneeling, Bending at the waist, Reaching (overhead), Rotation of head/neck, Standing, Twisting at the waist and walking
Apply sealant to surface per specifications
Install various aircraft system components such as panel installs
Use chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and finishes
Work in confined space and respirator usage

Required

Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as: flexion and extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting)

Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals
6+ months experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications
6+ months experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English
6+ months experience in a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand, power and/or pneumatic (air) tools

Preferred

3+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
1+ years of experience applying sealant to required surfaces per specifications
1+ years of experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematic and diagrams in aviation
1+ years of experience installing various aircraft system components such as tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, and ducts in aviation
