Responsibilities
Analyzing HV systems for proper protection and arc flash mitigation, using tools like ETAP, Pspice
Creating electric powertrain system and sub-system diagrams
Ensuring proper overload protection device selection and coordination
Defining, integrating, and validating high voltage components in machine powertrain applications
Driving requirements definition in support of electrical safety standards (IEEE, NFPA, IEC, ISO, UN)
Assisting technical leads in conveying software requirements and component electronic information for HV diagnostics, events, and warnings to the various controls teams
Virtual audits of HV powertrain systems for grounding, bonding, and cable selection / routing
Supporting machine commissioning by evaluating compliance with standards, documenting and resolving issues and verifying safe operating procedures
Development of HV system design guides, leveraging best practices and lessons from prior machine projects
Sizing high voltage cables in powertrain applications
Troubleshooting and analysis of field data
Educating process partners on the hazards and best practices for working on high voltage electrical systems
Qualification
Required
BS in Engineering (ME, EE or experience working in the same space) OR Master's degree with 8+ years of experience
Takes Initiative
Collaborative nature
Intellectual Curiosity, motivated to learn
Experience with systems over 300V DC
Strong grasp of electrical theory
Well versed in Microsoft products
Preferred
Previous experience in EV systems integration or testing, Power Systems design, analysis, or test is highly desired
