Consumer Insights Intern (Graduate Student)
AARP is the nation's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people 50 and older. They are seeking a Consumer Insights Intern to engage in applied research and data analysis, focusing on issues that affect mid-life and older adults.

Responsibilities
Fact-checking reports
Conducting secondary data analysis
Designing surveys, interview guides, and focus group guides
Conducting and summarizing basic data analyses using programs such as SPSS, DisplayR, and other agile research tools
Writing fact sheets and reports
Synthesizing research findings to produce actionable insights
Creating Infographics
Preparing figures and graphics for presentations
Participating in meetings with internal stakeholders throughout the association
An array of other research-related tasks
Qualification
Required
Prospective interns must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university, remain academically enrolled throughout the internship, and be a graduate or post-doctoral student
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues creatively and independently
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Knowledge of applied research practices, such as survey design and analysis
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (particularly PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel)
Time commitment of 35 to 40 hours per week
Regular and reliable job attendance
Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships
In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise
Preferred
Familiarity with SPSS preferred, but experience with other data analysis packages accepted
Students pursuing their Ph.D. degree in social sciences, communications, policy, or business are encouraged to apply
