Responsibilities

Lead, complete, and review complex business unit accounting matters accurately and on time

Apply your judgment independently to understand how your work affects other areas of the company

Be the subject-matter expert on accounting concepts, financial reporting rules, industry practices, and company policies and procedures

Monitor accounting changes, keep guidelines and protocols current, and ensure journal entries and reconciliations follow corporate financial reporting standards

Use professional accounting and financial reporting concepts and apply company policies and procedures to complete various accounting and financial reporting responsibilities

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g. Finance)

A minimum of 4 years related accounting experience

At least 2 years in a specialized area (e.g., reinsurance, investments), financial reporting, or public accounting experience

Preferred

Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards, industry practices, and company policies and procedures

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive process control improvements and effectiveness in business processes that enhance performance; able to simplify information or situations to provide clarity and support decisions

Excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) and organizational skills (planning, time management, and priority management)
