Sr/Staff Electrical Engineer (Plant)

Bosch Home Comfort USA is seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced Staff/Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer with a focus on commissioning and project execution within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role is critical for ensuring the integration of new electrical systems and leading the development of project documentation while maintaining operational readiness.

Responsibilities

Lead all phases of electrical system commissioning for facility upgrades and new tool installations
Develop comprehensive commissioning plans, and protocols to validate system performance, functionality, and adherence to design specifications and operational requirements
Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning, driving solutions to ensure timely and successful system energization and handover
Author, review, and approve detailed electrical project scopes of work (SOWs)
Develop and plan electrical switching schedules (LOTO schedules) for complex outages, tie-ins, and energization sequences, minimizing impact to ongoing operations while maintaining stringent safety protocols, especially for medium voltage apparatus
Write and review comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, and emergency response plans for new and modified electrical systems, incorporating best practices from NFPA 70B
Prepare and manage electrical change orders, submittals, and requests for information (RFIs) during project execution
Provide expert electrical engineering support throughout the project lifecycle for new fab construction, facility expansions, and tool installations
Ensure all electrical designs for upgrades and new tools comply with NEC, SEMI standards, corporate specifications, and power quality requirements for sensitive manufacturing equipment
Validate power quality and availability for new tool hook-ups, ensuring proper voltage, current, and harmonic levels
Apply advanced load shedding and load restoration principles during project planning to mitigate risks associated with planned outages or unexpected power events
Review and validate protective device settings and coordination for new or modified electrical infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable operation post-commissioning
Conduct arc flash, short circuit, and load flow studies to support project design, commissioning, and operational readiness
Champion electrical safety across all project phases, particularly during high-risk energization, testing, and maintenance activities, with deep expertise in medium voltage safety practices and procedures
Ensure strict compliance with NFPA 70E for electrical safety in the workplace, OSHA regulations, and NFPA 70B for electrical equipment maintenance
Develop and implement robust LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures specific to complex electrical configurations, including multi-source and medium voltage systems
Maintain accurate as-built documentation for all electrical modifications and installations
Participate in incident investigations related to electrical systems, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required
5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including design collaboration, construction support, and operational troubleshooting
Proficient in power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, and backup/emergency power systems
Familiar with electrical codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA
Skilled in electrical analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools) and drafting platforms (e.g., AutoCAD)

Preferred

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems or controls is a plus
480 and/or 208-volt power distribution experience
Experience with 4,160 and 12,000 voltages
Control systems troubleshooting experience
Experience in power systems studies, including selectivity, arc flash coordination, short circuit calculations, and cable schedules, will set you apart
Experience supporting electrical systems in high-reliability environments such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or data center facilities
Work experience in a clean room desired
