Responsibilities

Design and develop suspension systems, components, and suspension geometry from concept to detailed solution, meeting performance, cost, and quality targets
Utilize NX CAD and TeamCenter to create and validate 3D models and perform articulation and GD&T studies
Conduct feasibility studies, benchmarking, and readiness assessments to guide program direction
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CAE, Vehicle Architecture, Manufacturing, Service Engineering, Body, HVAC, Powertrain) to optimize vehicle-level solutions
Lead subsystem design reviews, DFMEA, CAE evaluations, and ensure robust design deliverables
Support sourcing and validation processes, ensuring design maturity at program transition
Mentor less experienced engineers and drive technical training within the AVD Suspension Community
Represent AVD in VCIT and ELT meetings, resolving packaging and integration issues
Facilitate new technology insertion and translate lessons learned into best practices

Required

10+ years of suspension engineering experience, including 5+ years in advanced vehicle development
Expertise in suspension dynamics, kinematics, and performance requirements
Proficiency in NX CAD, TeamCenter, and GD&T application for complex assemblies
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and design-for-serviceability principles
Excellent physics-based critical thinking skills
Strong project management and communication skills with ability to lead in ambiguous environments
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering
Suspension architecture experience and recognized technical contributions (patents/publications)
Experience mentoring multidisciplinary teams and driving innovation
DFSS Master Black Belt Certification
