QUANTALEAP is looking for an experienced Controller to join their Welch and Rushe Division in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The role involves overseeing financial operations, managing the accounting team, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations while providing opportunities for career growth within the company.

Responsibilities

Oversee all financial operations for Welch and Rushe, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results
Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team’s efficiency and growth
Supervise general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll processing
Develop and manage the annual budget, and monitor financial performance against forecasts. Collaborate with management to prepare accurate projections and business plans
Apply your expertise in construction and project-based accounting to ensure proper cost allocation and financial tracking of ongoing projects
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring financial statements and records are accurate and transparent
Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and controls, with a particular focus on enhancing reporting capabilities and ensuring efficiency

Required

3+ years of relevant financial experience, including supervisory roles
College diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Experience with Sage accounting software or similar financial software systems
Strong ability to identify discrepancies, monitor budgets, and ensure financial accuracy
CPA (Certified Public Accountant, US) or CPA (Certified Professional Accountant, Canada) preferred
Availability to work varied hours, particularly during closing and budgeting periods, to meet deadlines

Preferred

Experience managing financial operations for a construction or HVAC-related business
Familiarity with the unique financial challenges and processes of project-based industries
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
