Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security instruments, and related real estate finance documents
Assist in structuring and closing real estate finance transactions with oversight and guidance from senior attorneys
Conduct due diligence on properties, borrowers, and financing structures
Provide legal support on real estate financing structures and private lending matters
Research and summarize relevant regulatory requirements with support from senior attorneys
Monitor legal developments in real estate finance and report key updates to senior team members and clients
Work closely with internal teams, clients, lenders, and external counsel to support smooth transaction workflows
Communicate legal concepts clearly and professionally, tailoring explanations to business needs
Contribute to building strong client relationships through responsiveness and reliable execution
Provide assistance on special projects and cross-functional initiatives
Support senior leadership with research, documentation, and general legal tasks as needed
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited American law school
Bar Admission (required): Must be admitted to practice law in California U.S. citizen or permanent resident
3-5 years of legal experience with exposure to transactional real estate finance or commercial lending
Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements with precision
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
Able to work independently while maintaining momentum and managing multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with professional maturity and a growth-oriented mindset
Two professional references and a valid criminal background check issued within the last 60 days are required for all successful applicants
Completion of intake paperwork, including submission of a valid tax identification number (e.g., Social Security Number, Social Insurance Number, or the country's equivalent), is required prior to onboarding
