College Student- Activities Assistant

The College Student - Activities Assistant will provide essential support and care to adults with developmental disabilities, empowering them to live fulfilling lives while gaining valuable experience in healthcare and social work.

Individual & Family Services

Responsibilities

Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in planning and executing daily activities in their communities
Foster meaningful relationships with individuals served, promoting their independence, self-esteem, and social integration
Implement individualized care plans and behavioral interventions under the guidance of supervisors and healthcare professionals
Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals served by monitoring their health, behavior, and environment
Document all interactions, observations, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nurses, therapists, and case managers, to optimize the quality of care and support provided
Participate in training sessions, workshops, and team meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of developmental disabilities

Required

Passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and promoting their inclusion in the community
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse populations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different locations within the community
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred

Current enrollment in a college or university program (preferred majors include psychology, social work, nursing, special education, or related fields)
