Psychologist - Pediatric Hematology Oncology Services
Legacy Health is seeking a Psychologist for their Pediatric Hematology Oncology Services. This role involves providing behavioral health interventions to pediatric patients and their families, assessing and treating a range of emotional and behavioral issues within a clinical team setting.

Responsibilities
Provide behavioral health interventions to pediatric patients and their families within the hematology/oncology department
Assess, evaluate, diagnose, and treat emotional, cognitive, and behavioral issues or disorders affecting patients
Aid in early identification and provide problem focused interventions that promote wellness and relieve symptoms
Provide assessment, management, and triage of psychological and social problems in the clinic patient population
Deliver evidence-based interventions targeted to improve overall health for patients with a variety of emotional and behavioral problems
Meet with patients individually and/or families for an assessment and provide recommendations to the medical care team
Work with patients for several subsequent sessions to provide ongoing skills training and coaching to improve health and functioning
Support patients who require services not provided in the RCH clinics to make a smooth transition to care with community partners
Qualification
Required
Psychology Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Psychology
Completion of Psychology Internship and Residency
Minimum of two years of pediatric clinical experience
Licensed Psychologist (PhD/PsyD)
Able to conduct Cognitive-Behavioral or solution focused interventions
Recognizes and advocates for patients regarding behavioral health strategies/interventions to the treatment team
Promotes health behavior change through evaluation, brief intervention and education
Works with multidisciplinary team to help support the patient's health
Coordinates with physicians, nurses, social work care managers, registered dieticians, and all other members of the care team to provide excellent consultation
Demonstrates competencies in assessment of emotional, cognitive and behavioral disorders in child and adolescent patients
Demonstrates competencies in understanding the relationship between medical and psychological conditions
Demonstrates competency in assessment cognitive and psychological problems associated with, and/or exacerbating medical conditions
Demonstrates excellent communication and relational skills
This role requires managing the needs of multiple parties skillfully and with consistent follow through and informative documentation
Preferred
Experience with trauma informed care
