Business Development Executive
Third Sector Intelligence is a mission-driven software company that helps governments, nonprofits, and philanthropies use data to improve the lives of children. They are seeking a Business Development Executive to join their Strategic Partnerships team, focusing on pre-sales and sales activities to expand market presence and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within target government agencies and corporate accounts. Research and build targeted lists of senior-level contacts
Conduct strategic outbound outreach to secure qualified meetings with executives and decision-makers
Lead pre-sales conversations, presentations, and demonstrations to executive-level decision makers, positioning products to address business and policy needs
Develop a deep understanding of the company’s SaaS solutions and effectively communicate their value propositions across both public and private sector markets
Collaborate with executive, product and technical teams to refine product messaging and value propositions for diverse professional audiences
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, including RFP/RFI responses and contract discussions
Maintain and track outreach activity, meetings secured, and progress through the pipeline
Build trusted relationships with prospective clients and internal stakeholders to support long-term customer success
Represent 3Si at industry conferences, webinars, and relevant sector-specific events
Qualification
Required
Five or more years of experience in business development, sales, or pre-sales within SaaS, technology, or analytics solutions
Proven track record of selling to government clients and/or corporate executives, with ability to navigate complex procurement processes
Strong executive presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present confidently to C-suite and senior leaders
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong technical acumen/literacy, and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively
Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions
Proficient in CRM and marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot)
Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Preferred
Familiarity with data analytics platforms, HR/benefits solutions, or workforce management tools
Experience engaging with government or corporate stakeholders strongly preferred
Background in early childhood, education, or social impact sectors highly desirable
