IT Data Engineer Intern
Oceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore energy industry. As a Data Engineer Intern, you will play a key role in migrating data from Denodo to Microsoft Fabric, involving analysis, recreation of SQL logic, and ensuring data accuracy.

Responsibilities
Analyzing and understanding SQL logic built into Denodo views
Recreating that logic using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory pipelines, Spark SQL, and notebooks
Conducting thorough validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency post-migration
Creating clear and comprehensive supporting documentation for migration processes and outcomes
Investigating and resolving any data discrepancies identified during migration or validation
Collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Software Developers
Working independently and under the supervision/guidance of the Data Engineering Manager
Qualification
Required
3rd or 4th year undergraduate student at an accredited University, pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS)
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Experience with Microsoft Office
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
No relocation or housing assistance is being offered
Strong understanding of SQL, including the ability to write, analyze, and optimize queries
Proficiency in using SQL joins (INNER, LEFT, RIGHT, FULL) to combine data from multiple tables
Experience with GROUP BY, HAVING, and aggregate functions (e.g., COUNT, SUM, AVG) for data summarization and reporting
Ability to interpret and translate complex SQL logic from existing views or scripts
Preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and experience building data pipelines
Familiarity with Spark SQL and the use of notebooks for data engineering tasks
