The Solution Engineer will partner with Sales on technical discovery, solution design, and high-impact demos, supporting the sales cycle and ensuring customer trust through technical fluency and business context.

Responsibilities

Partner with AEs during discovery to uncover true pain, constraints, and success metrics
Map customer workflows and propose solutions using Clue modules and integrations
Configure demo environments, sample data, and workflows that mirror the prospect’s reality
Explain integration behavior: APIs, webhooks, auth models, sync frequency, data quality
Pin-point tradeoffs and risks, and de-risk them before implementation
Advise on architecture decisions and integration scope with ERPs, telematics, GPS, and maintenance systems
Identify objections in advance and give AEs clear talk tracks
Create repeatable assets: demo flows, best-practice docs, playbooks, integration guides
Participate in implementation shadowing to understand edge cases and real-world complexity
Provide feedback to Product and Engineering based on market signals
Attend trade shows and customer events a few times a year

Required

3+ years in a Solution Engineer / Sales Engineer / Technical Consultant role
Experience with construction, field operations, or equipment management
Strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, data models, authentication, and sync behavior
Ability to run technical discovery, ask sharp questions, and map workflows
Comfortable presenting to operators, mechanics, CFOs, IT, and PMs
Obsessed with preparation and clarity
Calm under pressure
Strong written documentation skills
Experience with SaaS, demos, and pre-sales engineering

Preferred

Bonus: experience with ERPs (Vista, Spectrum), telematics (Samsara, JDLink, Komtrax), maintenance systems (B2W, HCSS)
